Introduction: “BLL-SIS is honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his vision for America. […] He played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African Americans in the United States, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He ultimately won a Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent campaign against racism. To honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, BLL-SIS has compiled a list of resources to help celebrate his life and work.”

Introduction: “Happy New Year! Each year, January 1 is recognized as Public Domain Day and Copyright Law Day to raise awareness of the intellectual property rights of both authors and the public that enjoys their works. It also marks the day when thousands of U.S. copyrights expire.”

In 2022, thousands of works first published in 1926 became public domain, including A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh, Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, and Franz Kafka’s The Castle, as well as over 400,000 sound recordings from pre-1923.”

Introduction: “A day early, you can now place an order for free at-home COVID-19 test kits through the Biden administration's covidtests.gov website. The site was scheduled to go live Jan. 19 but opened a day early for testing, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during a press briefing. It takes less than two minutes, and you need to provide only your contact information and shipping address.”
