The law library provides research assistance to faculty members and their research assistants. Training is held each year, and RA's are always encouraged to seek assistance.
Faculty have a variety of options for obtaining materials. Faculty can place a request for books in the catalog. These requests will be handled by library staff and delivered to the faculty member. For materials the library does not own, the law library offers Interlibrary Loan services to law faculty and staff to assist them in obtaining materials for their coursework, journal articles, and research projects. While off-campus, faculty can access materials remotely. Finally, faculty have the option of accessing the library after normal business hours.
Purchasing Books and Other Materials
The Wise Law Library welcomes law faculty suggestions for print or electronic resources (books, journals, databases) to be purchased for the library’s collection. Full-time, regular faculty members receive an allocation of $5,000 each fiscal year in Faculty Development (FD) funds. These monies may be used to purchase legal materials for faculty research, in addition to other purposes.
